SYNOPSIS of
DISTANT THUNDER

The ancient prophecies are true, and the unthinkable is about to happen.  Israel and America are targets of radical Islamic terrorists armed with tactical nuclear weapons.  They are bent on nothing less than the complete destruction of their enemies.
Strap in with Israeli F-16 'Lightning' pilot, MOSHE ELDAN as he heroically defends his increasingly isolated nation. His mission is to stop  a plot hatched by Iran and Syria. A Saegah 'Thunder' missile is aimed at the Israeli port city of Haifa, and Lightning fighters are called to do the impossible.  But there is more to Moshe's struggle than saving his country. He is forced into a journey of faith as his secular beliefs are challenged by the truth of ancient Biblical prophecies that are seemingly coming to fulfillment ten thousand feet beneath the wings of his aircraft.
Meanwhile, Pastor Tyler Dempsey has been warning his suburban Kansas City congregation of ominous Old Testament prophecies. The ancient utterances are destined to come true, and in the very near future. Many in the Church are listening. Others are taking offense and are stirring trouble. Ty is about to go through the greatest struggle of his life. However, a romantic reprieve eases the pain of the conflict as Ty explores a budding relationship with a beautiful and talented singer named Blake Sieler. Both are about to face a firestorm beyond their ability to imagine.
Join Moshe and Ty in a roller-coaster adventure that will lead them to the edge of the greatest disaster in history, up until now.

Between the Lines
With Ty Dempsey and
Moshe Eldan

This book, and the entire Lightning Chronicles trilogy, is much more than a work of fiction. It is a saga built upon actual future events described in ancient writings of the most factual document ever written, the Bible.
Ty Dempsey is the characterization of what can happen to an individual when the words of scripture move from being symbolic, allegorical representations, to being the actual, literal Word of God.  Ty begins to see the scriptures as being more than historical documentation. Rather, the fact that God is alive and active in the world becomes a present reality. He has a plan, and that plan has been written in advance in the form of PROPHECY.
Ty is first led to a series of prophecies in the Book of Isaiah that spell out the complete destruction of Damascus. That has never happened in all of history, but Ty sees it as inevitible. He is then confronted by prophetic words in Ezekiel  chapters thirty-eight and thirty-nine. The very nations filling nightly news broadcasts are clearly  named by the Prophet as forming a coalition bent on attacking Israel. Worse, Israel will be totally alone in its greatest hour of peril. But though the free nations of the earth abandon the Jews, God will intervene in a dramatic and cataclysmic rescue.
Moshe Eldan, a representation of the mindset of secular Jews, is also on a God-ordained course that will lead him to a spiritual confrontation with the Almighty. Up until now, Israel's religious heritage and belief in God were only stories of myth and fable for Moshe. But his thinking shifts when his wife, Tasha, finds the truth of Yeshua Messiah. She shares a prophetical teaching with her husband, and through that teaching, his eyes begin to open. Why? Because what was written 2,500 years  earlier  is actually happening.  He is hooked, and no matter how hard he attempts to evade the subject, God is hounding him.
The ultimate differences between Christianity and Islam are built into this fast-paced scenario. The two religions are polar opposites in formation and doctrine. Islam calls on  a different god than Christianity and Judaism. Only one can be true. Only one way leads to the Father. Only one way is the way of grace, sacrifice, and salvation.
